I'd just like to thank you for all the hard work you do on this wikia. Between you and Lossy doing the chapter summaries for the last 6 or 7 volumes, uploading the great quality pictures for each volume, updating various terminology & character pages, and so on. It's such a big help to those of us who are English only readers, who can't read the source material. The chapter summaries that you and Lossy have been doing for the last few volumes are especially helpful for me. So I'd like to once again thank you for taking the time to do all of this for the English Mahouka Community. I'm looking forward to the chapter summaries for Vol.25. Good Luck, keep up the great work, and Thanks Again!!
Your recent edit is something that can be interpreted as making a slight inconsistency in the wiki. The 10 Magic Institutes page lists the laboratories with their ordinal numbers written in numeric form, and that's how it is since the creation of the article (01.25.2014). I know that it is not a big issue, but wouldn't it be better have it written everywhere the same way?
You make a point, but I guess it comes down to one's preference. I'm usually only used to seeing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. when it comes to stating things such as Places achieved in competitions in this situation. Thus why I use the word itself to describe something like the Institutes, meaning First Institute, Second Institute, etc.
If you want to keep things consistent however you wish, go for it. I have no problem with what you decide.
Last time, when I was running amuck in formatting, you asked why I did what I did. However, you never said anything about that since then. Your silence may be construed as consent, but I'd really like actual words about agreement or disagreement. Could you tell me, please?
The reason i removed it was because the Rozen technically aren't an organization per say. Now Rozen Magicraft is, to be precise a firm, company; whatever one would like to call it and that is why the infobox works for that page. Basically i felt that it wasn't needed and wouldn't work for this page since the info is just about the Rozen Family.
Now if a proper infobox to list whatever could be made, then that could be used. The point is, we need to use the right infobox's for what we're trying to do.
Bharat Chandra Khan and Somo Chiyai as "Agni - Downburst"
So, is this some kind of copy-paste (& forgot to change/update) thing or are their SC Magics really the same. Coz as per my reading and understanding of SC Magics, it seems to be quite unique for each SC Magician.
Well you just have to look back at the blue illustration page in Vol. 8. I hope this clarify's things for you.
"As Modern Magic is created from highly advanced science and technology, few Countries were able to develop strong military-grade magic’s. As a result, only a handful of Countries were able to develop Strategic-Class Magic that would rival weapons of mass destruction.
However with the continuing practice of providing developed magic to Ally Nations, it also became normal to acknowledge Allied Magicians as Strategic-Class Magicians for their high capabilities with Strategic-Class Magic.
As of April, 2095 A.D., there are Thirteen Magicians publicly announced nationally for their skill in Strategic-Class Magic. They are called the Thirteen Apostles, and were seen as a big factor in the world's military balance. Their affiliations, names, and magic’s are detailed below:
Angie Sirius (アンジー・シリウス) [Heavy Metal Burst]
Elliot Miller (エリオット・ミラー) [Leviathan]
Roland Bart (ローラン・バルト) [Leviathan]
Only Angie Sirius is affiliated with STARS, Miller is based in Alaska, and Bart remains stationed in Gibraltar.
New Soviet Union
Igor Andreivich Bezobrazov (イーゴリ・アンドレイビッチ・ベゾブラゾフ) [Mist Bomb]
Leonid Kondrachenko (レオニード・コンドラチェ ンコ) [Army of Terra]
Kondrachenko remains immobile at Black Sea Base due to advanced age.
Great Asian Alliance
Liú Yúndé (劉 雲徳) [Thunder Tower]
Killed in Action on October 31st, 2095 A.D. during War with Japan.
Bharat Chandra Khan (バラット・チャンドラ・カーン) [Agni Downburst]
Itsuwa Mio (五輪 澪) [Abyss]
Miguel Diaz (ミゲル・ディアス) [Synchro-Linear Fusion]
Provided by USNA.
William McLeod (ウィリアム・マクロード) [Ozone Circle]
Kara Schmidt (カーラ・シュミット) [Ozone Circle]
Ozone Circle was a joint development of the old EU as an Ozone Hole countermeasure. Prototyped and completed in the UK, its Activation Sequence was opened to the former EU Nations as per agreement.
Ali Shaheen (アリ・ シャーヒーン) [Bahamut]
Bahamut's Activation Sequence was a USNA and Japan joint development, provided to Turkey by Japan.
Somo Chiyai (ソム・チャイ・ブンナーク) [Agni Downburst]
Provided by Indo-Persia Union."
This is something different, but - well, I saw that for the ref tag names you have been using :<Vol. no><Ch. no>. But won't this create confusion in future when Vol. 21 is released then somewhere it might become like - :211 - can be interpreted in 2 ways - Vol.2 Ch 11 and Vol.21 Ch 1. So when I tried to copy that style I got stumped and so instead used V1Ch1 style. Another thing is - should it be used as :0106 (for Vol.1 Ch 6)?
Sorry for being away recently, I have been quite busy with exams and the like. Anyways, I was wondering what were your thoughts on having an unoffical discord chat server, mainly because I feel the offical chat of wikia is somewhat limiting.
It's a Light Novel and is called Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei SS. Interested in this mostly because of Minoru VS Masaki. Most of first high competitions will probably be boring overall but seeing the new and different magics will be good.
Nope, nothing what so ever. It was all rehashing of the stories for the Mahouka SS.
Other than the ending sentence that gave the title for the next volume, the only other source of information about Vol. 20 would perhaps be in the Afterwards. If Satou didn't give any details in it, then we're stuck waiting.
I've seen you latest edit in Timeline, where you reverted my change of the cafe's name that Tatsuya and his circle of friends usually frequent.
I collected a little statistic data through searching the English translated volumes, and I found three variants for the name of the cafe:
1) Eine Brise,
2) Eine Breeze,
Frequency of occurences:
1) 4 (V9 - 1, V12 - 2, V13 - 1),
2) 1 (V9),
3) 4 (V14 - 2, V16 - 2).
The occurence of writing it in two words is one higher than the one word variant. That 'Breeze' is probably a mistake on the translator's part. Later chapters write it in one word, but I have a bad experience with translation accuracy in V16. Therefore I'd like to suggest reevaluating somehow the correct form of this name.
Obviously, if you have decisive evidence that the one word variant is the correct form, please consider this message as if it was never sent.
Here is the Katakana (アイネブリーゼ), the correct translated spelling is "Einebrise". The thing is with every one of the translated Light Novels, moreover, the older ones have never truly been properly Quality Checked pertaining to Translate Checking and Grammar.
My supporting evidence is if you wish to take a look. In Episode 20 of the Anime, the part where everyone is at the cafe; there is a moment where the sign outside the coffee shop shows the exact spelling. There is also more evidence if you can find the Raw for it; in the Yokohama Manga Chapter 5 there is a page that also shows the spelling.
