Introduction

Morisaki Shun (森崎 駿) is a student of First High School, and a Course 1 student.

Appearance and Personality[]

Morisaki Shun is a young man. Because of his enormous pride and superiority complex, he took Course 2 students lightly and discriminate them, even calling them 'Weeds' prior to joining the Public Morals Committee.[1]

Background[]

His family is part of the Hundred Families, which belong to the Numbered Family System. The Morisaki Family is known for producing excellent bodyguards; Morisaki has two years of experience as a bodyguard.[2]

He is ranked third in the practical part of the first exam during his first year.[3]

He's known for his derogatory words against Tatsuya and other Course 2 students in the first day of school.[1]

Wanting to show off the difference between Blooms and Weeds, Morisaki tried attacking Saijou Leonhard using magic, but his CAD was hit by Erika's baton.[1]

He is recruited, on the recommendation of the Faculty, as one of the two new members of the Public Morals Committee along with Tatsuya.[4]

During the 2095 Nine Schools Competition, Morisaki is part of the Rookie Division of the Monolith Code Competition but got caught in a Battering Ram causing him and his entire team to drop out and be replaced by Tatsuya and his friends. [5]

"It's fine. Really. I'm satisfied I could help you out. This ended up being a really worthwhile day for me."

—Morisaki Shun to Sun Meilin

Morisaki is at a lost after the competition since he was hospitalized for a week and feels like his skills hasn't grown at all that he practiced recklessly just to get stronger then annoyingly takes Takigawa Kazumi's suggestion to call it quits one day. Morisaki had a short trip during his summer break, where a short story about himself and his family was explained and voluntarily becomes a bodyguard for Sun Meilin which allows him to bounce back from his slump after completing his bodyguard duty. [2]

Abilities[]

Morisaki ability

Due to his two years of experience as a bodyguard, Morisaki is used to actual combat.[2] Kasumi rated him for having average magic power. Both the scale of Magic Sequences and strength of interference were only average, it was his deployment speed that was faster, and only that alone.[6]

Magical Abilities[]

Quickdraw[]

Morisaki using Quickdraw

The Morisaki Family is well known for its 'Quickdraw'. As the namesake suggests, the magic allows Morisaki to rapidly draw and fire a gun. Its purpose is to activate a spell as quickly as possible using a CAD with the basic idea of quickly activating a CAD from a non-combat stance, speedthrough the activation processsing and disable the opponent before they could activate their own spell. Due to Drawless' emphasis on speed, a greater importance is placed on a specialized CAD especially the use of a handgun shaped CAD so the technique had been born from positioning the body to efficiently draw and activate the handgun CAD. Because of the speed of Drawless, it is an ideal skill for Japanese bodyguards to have since they were required to carry their weapons concealed as they were ordered to keep their weapons out of sight so they wouldn't pressure their clients unlike their USNA bodyguards counterpart who would flaunt their weapons as a feint against assailants. [2]

Drawless[]

Drawless in the Manga

Morisaki can use 'Drawless', a high level technique for pistol-shaped CADs. Prior to initiating the Activation Sequence, the user uses his/her own senses instead of the aiming assistance device built into the CAD to aim the prepared magic, then casts the magic without actually drawing the CAD. Shippou Takuma tried a sneak attack thinking that Morisaki is not fast enough to stop him since he has not drawn his CAD yet but Takuma was rattled enough by Drawless to prevent him from attacking. [6]

Trivia[]
