Honoka bumps into Tsukushiin and they end up going to watch the matches together. First they watch Kanou go up against Sano from Fourth High in Ice Pillar Break. Kanou creates vibrations in mid air to bypass the information boost Sano was using to defend her pillars, destroying over half in moments. Sano switches to a mobile defence by making her pillars move. However, Kanou predicts this is only possible by lowering the defence allowing her to destroy the last pillars directly leading to an overwhelming win.
Next is the Cloudball final between Isshiki and Subaru. The match starts evenly with both sides giving it there best. Isshiki notices Subaru’s awareness block’s effect and changes strategy focusing on the balls rather than her opponent. Using her innate spell ‘Lightning’ she overwhelms Subaru with shear speed. Winning the match in straight sets. Honoka observes the result with Tsukushiin on screen and she lets slip she saw the light around Isshiki’s neck.

She unconsciously charges her psions and launches a pillar into Kanou’s destroying another three in a single shot. Eimi is stunned and thinks back to what her grandmother said again, that magic makes lies into reality. She uses this to launch a fourth pillar and despite her Kanou’s attempt to protect her pillars Eimi destroys another three with her pillar.
In the audience Subaru comments to Nanami that Eimi has a bad habit of unconsciously losing games in a balanced way to let off the gas. Eimi now has two pillars remaining against Kanou’s three. Kanou realises she miscalculated Eimi’s strength when Eimi suddenly collapses.

Staying on the defensive isn’t an option but Tatsuya explains to Mayumi that as Kanou’s remaining pillars are all together they can’t be smashed like before, so it all comes down to Eimi’s ability to use magic to rewrite reality.
Eimi’s pillars are getting warn down by Kanou’s spells despite the invasion when one suddenly launches at Kanou’s pillars as Eimi pours all her remaining power into one last attack. Kanou switches to defence and focus’s her power to protect the pillars. All three pillars break leaving Eimi the winner, but both contestants collapse from exhaustion.
After the match Kanou wakes in the infirmary to find Isshiki waiting for her to wake. Kanou apologises for losing and resolves to learn from this experience. Isshiki resolves to win Mirage Bat.
Over at First High’s tent Eimi returns from the infirmary still exhausted. Tatsuya scolds her for not sleeping properly when she was competing. Shizuku requests to battle Miyuki in an official match. Shizuku thinks back to her training with Tatsuya two weeks before the competition. Her resonance and information boost were enough to overpower two opponents simultaneously, but she tells Tatsuya she didn’t feel it was enough to face Miyuki.
Tatsuya gives her the sequence for Phonon Maser but it’s too tiring, so Tatsuya suggests using a specialised CAD which gives better results with less drain on her stamina. Shizuku is confused about the specialised CAD but Tatsuya explains she’ll use it with her generalised model and explains how to use two CADs at the same time as this is the only way she’ll be able to compete with Miyuki.

Miyuki admits it was because of the time he’s spending training with the others, so Tatsuya reassures her and warns her not to give openings like that at the competition. He warns her Shizuku wants to seriously fight Miyuki and that he’ll help her do so however he can so Miyuki will have to compete seriously to win. Later on, it’s time for Honoka and Tsukushiin to participate in the Battle Board final. Honoka thinks back to her discussion with Tatsuya about Tsukushiin’s spirit magic. The race begins and Honoka turns the surface of the water into a mirror to block Tsukushiin’s spells and take an early lead. In the audience Mizuo realised Honoka is a light elemental like her. Tsukushiin reaches the same conclusion and is elated to have such a strong opponent. As Honoka reaches the waterfall she sees the field has been swamped with traps but on countering realises Tsukushiin is using dummy traps to wear her out.
Honoka manages to figure out how to distinguish the dummies and spirit traps but as they make a turn Honoka has to jump one of Tsukushiin’s whirlpools allowing Tsukushiin to overtake Honoka. As she pulls into the lead Tsukushiin pulls out a second CAD.

Tatsuya realises he’s using ‘Deviation Release’ to lower the lethality of his attacks. Leo attacks again but just before his attack lands and takes Kichijouji out Leo is blown over by a surprise attack from Ichijou. This allows Kichijouji to counter Mikihiko with weight type magic and pin him to the ground.
Ichijou returns his attention to Tatsuya to find he has closed to within 5 meters in an instant and closed the gap. In a panic Ichijou fires off sixteen attack spells but forgets to adjust them, leaving them well over the legal output for the competition.

Mizuki, who had been watching for tampering informs Tatsuya that just before the accident Kobayakawa’s CAD sparked as though Spirit Magic was bursting from the CAD and caused it to malfunction.
Tatsuya takes Miyuki’s CAD for inspection and catches the saboteur tampering with it. Before Tatsuya can harm the saboteur Kudou Retsu arrives and Kudou confirms the CAD was tampered with using a technique used by the Cantonese Army.
Afterwards Tatsuya returns to First High where people have already heard about him getting violent. Miyuki is upset because she knows he got angry for her sake. Mayumi makes a joke to improve the mood in the tent. Tatsuya then explains about the Saboteur. Azusa is shocked but Hirakawa is crushed that she didn’t notice.
Isshiki, Kanou and Tsukushiin are in their ready room and discuss the incident of Tatsuya getting violent and suspect it might be due to all the accidents. Mizuo and Isshiki are ready for their matches and confident their training and jumping techniques will pay off.

Isshiki is impressed by Miyuki’s performance and as a result, she is even more determined to win her match and heads to the field. As Isshiki passes her Mizuo apologises for failing to win.
At First Highs tent everyone is talking about the flight magic. Azusa is struggling to comprehend Tatsuya and realises she wouldn’t be able to cope in Hirakawa’s position and questions the purpose of the grades and sperate courses. Mayumi reassures her by pointing out that the technical side isn’t represented by the main grades. She goes on too explain two courses only exist due to the lack of teachers and that the truth is the uniforms are only different due to an administration error when the number of students doubled. Miyuki is reflecting on the successful unveiling of Tatsuya’s Flight Magic when she overhears a committee member requesting to see Miyuki’s CAD. The other schools raised suspicions about cheating due to the Flight Magic being new technology. Miyuki is confident there is no cause for concern.
Upon hearing of Miyuki’s victory, the No head Dragon order Generator 17 to massacre the audience, but they are intercepted.
After having munch together Tatsuya asks Miyuki if there is anything that he can do to help her prepare for the final. Miyuki requests he watch over her as she takes a nap to rest for the final. Whilst Tatsuya watches Miyuki sleep, he thinks about the attempted massacre that Fujibayashi and Yanagi stopped and decides to take action for what has transpired.
In her sleep Miyuki’s mind goes from the first time she used Flight Magic to the say they delivered it to FTL where Ushiyama tells them that even normal magicians are getting results and not just Miyuki. On the way out they encounter Aoki, one of the Yotsuba butlers who praises Miyuki as a succession candidate but refuses to acknowledge Tatsuya, a mere body guard.

Isshiki is participating in her qualifier for Mirage Bat. Despite her technique only using magic to jump the other contestants are struggling to compete with her speed and skill. Kanou affirms Isshiki is doing well in the match but Isshiki’s mind is already looking to the final. She goes on to have a decisive win and advances.
After the match Isshiki reviews recordings of her and Miyuki’s matches to plan her strategy for the final. Some of her teammates arrive with the Flight Magic program and tell Isshiki to use the sequence. Kanou objects pointing out that from the technical side they shouldn’t use magic they are unfamiliar with. They are told that the sequence from First High was leaked to all the schools by the committee. Isshiki tells to Kanou to make the adjustments.
Kanou and Isshiki head outside to test the Flight Magic. Isshiki finds the spell is very easy to use and is confident she can compete in the final using the flight magic. Mizuo arrives and objects, pointing out that Miyuki has practised and is very skilled with the magic, and has taken to it like a fish to water. Isshiki points out all the schools are using flight magic so there is no choice. Mizuo insists Isshiki will have a better chance using magic to leap. Kanou is conflicted and knows how much pressure Isshiki is under to win. Isshiki agrees to think it over and asks Kanou if she can use both but Kanou warns it will be very draining to use both. Isshiki pushes and Kanou programs a new CAD that will incorporate a jumping spell with Flight Magic.
Later, while waiting for the final, she thinks back to the call she received from her uncle yesterday and how he wants her to show the prowess of the Isshiki Family to the Ten Master Clans following Ichijou’s defeat and her reasons to compete.

Azusa asks where she slept and Tatsuya wonders if she knows he and Miyuki were together but is saved by the match beginning.
The audience is shocked when all six contestants use Flight Magic. Tatsuya explains to Miyuki that the committee must have leaked the sequence to the other schools. Mayumi is appalled they would put winning before the safety of the participants. Tatsuya is unfazed and advises so long as they use his sequence then there is a safety feature built in.
Isshiki, upon seeing the other schools all using Flight Magic decides she made the correct decision in switching as well.
Miyuki is dominating the match and keeps scoring whilst the other participants cannot keep up. Miyuki is determined to show off Tatsuya’s magic and dedicate the victory to him.
Two of the other contestants exhaust their Psions and are brought safely to the ground by the Flight Magic’s built in safety feature.
Isshiki is still in the match but is getting demoralised by Miyuki’s overwhelming ability but upon seeing her Mother in the audience gets a second wind and tries the combination of Jumping Magic and Flight Magic, allowing her to steal a point from Miyuki.

Isshiki asks Miyuki if she can join her, despite knowing it may be awkward. She then opens up to Miyuki and tells her she’s been practicing flight magic, initially just to compete but as now gotten really into the magic and feels she’s had a new world opened before her, despite expecting to just feel crushed, and it’s all thanks to Miyuki. This leaves Miyuki perplexed as all she was thinking about was winning to show off Tatsuya’s magic and impress him and has subsequently been polite to avoid hurting people’s feelings. Isshiki however, has realized Miyuki is feeling awkward as she’s so powerful she’s likely never lost before and needs to know there is a bright side to losing too. Isshiki conveys her thanks and Miyuki returns the thanks by pointing out that thanks to Isshiki’s own skill she too was able to benefit. They end with a declaration to do better next year while the other four, led by Touko, enjoy the hot spring.
Later that evening Tatsuya returns to the hotel to be greeted by Miyuki, who jumps down to meet him.

During the matches Honoka is sitting next to Tatsuya but gets lost in his commentary so forgets to ask. Realising after the match she tried to incite him to lunch but Miyuki is present, so they end up going as a group of four, with Shizuku suggesting they eat Japanese sweets.
Honoka doesn’t want to ask Tatsuya in front of Miyuki, so as the four eat lunch Honoka asks about his plans for the day to which Tatsuya states he’ll be spending it with Miyuki as they haven’t been able to spend much time together during the competition (a fact the other two strongly contest in their heads). Shizuku makes a push and asks him directly if he has a date for the party, but Tatsuya says it’d be too much hassle, which causes Honoka to lose her composure as she objects, tipping off Miyuki as to her objective.
