Left-Bloods in the Anime. Kinjou Dick (middle), Higaki Joseph (right)
The Left-Bloods are people whose parents were soldiers of USA and stayed in Okinawa after the USA departure to Hawaii during World War III.
Background[]
It was due to the intensification of the twenty years of continuous border conflicts, the American (at the time it was still the USA) forces garrisoned in Okinawa eventually withdrew to Hawaii and left behind their children. The majority of them were not abandoned by their parents, their fathers had died in the war; however, many of them were taken in and raised by the National Defense force who had inherited the base, afterwards they became part of the military and are stationed at Okinawa Onna Air Base under the command of then Captain Kazama Harunobu.
They are valiant soldiers who superbly fulfill the duty of defending the border and many of their children, also become soldiers. However, a private Okinawa Tourist Guide website contained an article warning that many of those children, in short the second generation, were known for behaving badly so one should be wary of them. During the Okinawa Defense Naval Battle, some of the Left-Bloods decides to rebel and tries to take an official in the military industry and his family hostage who is staying at the base's shelter lead by Dick. But Shiba Miyuki, Shiba Miya and Sakurai Honami are also on the shelter and refuses to join them since Tatsuya has stepped outside to check the situation by Miya's order. Joseph confronts Dick and tries to convince them to cease their actions which gives Miyuki an opening to use Cocytus on one of the Left-Bloods using antinite on them but was shot by the other renegade Left-Bloods. After Miyuki, Miya and Honami were shot by the Left-Bloods, Tatsuya arrives and uses Mist Dispersion on them and Kazama explains to him what has happened after Tatsuya revives his family with Regrowth then Tatsuya asks Kazama to join the battle and together with the Left-Bloods and other defenders of Okinawa, they were able to push the repel the invading army form Okinawa. Thanks to the brave fighting of Left-Bloods the prejudice against them begin to fade away. The rebellion of some of the Left-Bloods were also kept secret by the army where Tatsuya and the others promised to remain silent about it. [3]
